I had my first operation in 2011, had adenoid cystic cancer of the submandibuler on the righ side of my neck. I refused the radiotherapy. Cancer reappeared in 2017 and had another operation removed all the silvery glands on the right.
This time i had Proton therapy in Plague sgsonsy my surgeon and oncologist advice. During the proton therapy i did not have any ptoblems, had energy ,i could eat everything eithout any problems. 3 days before the end my skin was pink and had a small mouth ulcer. When i came back in UK my surgeon and ecologist were very pleased and told me that i have made the right decision to have Proton therapy. My latest MRI in December was clear. As the proton therspy fid not effect my salivary gland on my left side i still ptofuce saliver on that side. When i sleep on my left side my rite side of the mouth gets dry but when i turn on the right dide i am ok. Hope i will be ok for few more years j am 75 years old.
