Her2+ and covid

Hi everyone, I was wondering if you could please share some of your own stories or some advice. My mum has been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma her2+ grade 3. We don't know the stage until after surgery.

At the moment my mum is self isolating but my concern is how does everyone manage with covid?

With mum self isolating my dad still has to work, my sister is off on maternity but her husband works in construction and her kids are going back to school soon.

How does everyone manage? Not sure I'm making sense but basically we are trying to find a balance between keeping my mum safe but still being able to do the necessary things..with my mum self isolating what do you recommend in keeping her Covid safe? Should she be isolating alone in a sense or should everyone kind of stay away? It's a terrible time with covid when you need all the support you can get but none of us want to possibly put her at risk and delay her treatment.

Thank you ♥️

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum's recent diagnosis. It's obviously a very difficult time for you all and for many people the stresses and anxieties that come with a cancer diagnosis have been made worse due to the concerns around Covid.

We have some information on our website here about coronavirus shielding advice which will hopefully help you all decide about the best way forward. If you still have concerns then do get in touch with her breast care nurse or Consultant for further advice.

I hope that all goes smoothly with the surgery and that the results bring some reassuring news.

    Best wishes,
