About Me

Hello,
Due to taking anticoagulants because I "enjoy" mild atrial fibrillation a polyp positioned 8cm from my anual verge started to bleed. After a number colonoscopies and flexi-sigs it was decided to perform a rectal resection to remove the polyp (which was benigne) which didn't go well and the join leaked poo into my body cavity.
After two more operations I was fitted with an ileostomy bag to rest my rectum.
That was in the summer of 2019 when I had three ops in five weeks and lost 20kgs in the process. I was knackered.
After a couple of x-rays and flexi-sigs it was decided to do the reversal Easter 2020 and then the plague hit. In the end I carried the bag for 16 months having the reversal just before Christmas 2020.
Having read many of the posts on here I think I've been lucky bowel movement wise. Initially, yes consistency varied from hard to very runny but after about six weeks things improved and now some days I go all day on one poo but others I do five or six and suffer a sore anus as a result. Have used a lot of vaseline which helps. And I've had a couple of curries as well.
Good luck to all of you. Happy to join in any discussions.
