Pfizer 2nd shot and breast clinic

I have been referred on 2ww to breast clinic for a fairly large lump my doctor found in my right breast (I do regular checks but would have never recognised what doctor found as a lump.) naturally I am worried sick. I had my 2nd jab Pfizer yesterday and my appointment is next Wednesday. I've just read that the 2nd shot can cause lymph node swelling in arm shot was done. I expect an ultrasound or mammogram of right breast and I am worried any swelling in this armpit may confuse the diagnostic tests. Anyone else know anything about this?

    Hi Jo-anne,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about your lump, but please don't add extra worry as a result of your 2nd Pfizer shot. The tests done are pretty specific and accurate. The three most common tests are mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy, but other scans can be done if needed. Just make sure to let your consultant know that next Wednesday.

Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thank you. Good to know. I'm trying to not think about the appointment until it happens, but it is very difficult. Especially as only my husband knows and don't want to share with kids or parents yet.

     Hi Jo-anne,

Most people try to keep it between themselves and a partner until they know for certain, but it does add to the stress. Don't expect to find out immediately. It normally takes 1-2 weeks to get the results of any tests. Try to keep yourself busy in the meantime, as this helps to make the time pass quicker.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi,

    An update.

I attended the breast clinic today and it was positive news after a shaky start. Examination was thought to be unremarkable but mammogram showed an area of concern. I then had ultrasound and it showed  an area of some thickened/dense tissue. Had another mammogram with greater compression and this confirmed  fibrous, dense tissue and I have been discharged.

The nurses, radiologists and Dr were so kind and reassuring throughout the whole experience today.

    HI Jo-Anne,

Thank you for your feedback. I am delighted to hear that it was good news for you today and, I can only imagine how relieved you feel tonight.

I sincerely hope that this is the first and only scare that you receive and, that you can now live a healthy and happy life for many years to come.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thank you Jolamine.
Your replies  to my post were comforting and reassuring.
I was not aware of this forum/chat before and can see how supportive it can be to those who may feel alone with their concerns and worries.
    Best wishes.

    Hi Jo-Anne,

This forum was my lifeline when I was first diagnosed. We don't like to burden our family and friends and, getting support from those who have first-hand experience of what we are going throughreally does help.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • I had my second dosee of Pfizer 3 weeks ago and last week I discoveered a lump in my breast/armpit area on the same siide that I received the jab. I called my GP and apparently there is lots of reports of lymph nodes enlarged in that area in the same side that the vaccine took place, stiil he has refered myself to the breast clinic and I have an appointment for next Thursday 19th of Agust which I am quite scare. I am in a complicated situation as on Tuesday the 17th I have my MRI to monitor the growth of a pelviic tumour that was biopsied back in May but they cannot be 100% sure of its nature so I am on the game wait for growth rate, which is quite uncertain. Anyone had any experience of breast lumps from the Pfizer jab?
