20 year old with a growing lump

Hello,

I am currently very anxious as I am waiting for my breast clinic appointment. It is hard talking to my family about this as I don't want to worry anyone, definetly not as much as I am worried myself.

I have had an unbearable pain in my breast around 3 weeks ago, only one day but I could not even lay on my side without almost crying. The next day I have noticed a red patch (no rash just red skin as if I hit it?) this went away the day after and that's when I noticed a hard lump. After asking my mum about it (she's had fibrodenomas when she was my age) she said she couldn't feel anything so I brushed it off. The week after I could still feel the lump, painless but hard and immobile  so I decided to get a gp appointment. The doctor said there is definitely a hard lump there and referred me to a clinic. It has now been a week since my appointment and around 3 weeks since I discovered the bump. It is now bigger and clearly visible to the eye. You can see it sticking out through my skin. I am really worried that it is something more serious than a cyst or a fibrodenoma as it is visible to the eye sometimes hurts slightly only just enough for me to feel it's presence but I'm unsure as to whether it's just my consciousness reminding me of the lump.

I am 20 year old so I really hope it isn't serious however I can't help but imagine the worst.

not sure why I've written it on here, possibly just to get it off my chest. (Pun unintended )

This should be a reminder to check your boobs no matter what age. Fingers crossed for me :)

  • Hello, I am new here too and waiting for my referral to the breast clinic.

I'm 27 with a young baby and breastfeeding. I have had a fibroadenoma for 10 years but have recently found a new, very different lump on my breast bone.

Hope you are doing okay and your appointment comes through soon! I can't help but feel more worried as every day passes! Sending hugs x
