Biopsy Results

Good Morning,

I just want to say I have spent the last week reading through this forum and you are all incredibly brave and a real inspiration.I have found comfort in your positivity and feel ready for anything!

I had a breast biopsy about 10 days ago now, initially the consultant suspected a fibroidanoma after feeling my breast lump,the ultra sound was unclear so a biopsy was done.I was supposed to have a phone appt last Wednesday but this was cancelled as my results weren't back in time to be discussed at the MDT meeting so I have another telephone consultation booked in for this Wednesday evening. I guess my question is has anyone ever got bad news over the phone following a biopsy? I am a fairly positive person and convinced myself if it's bad they won't tell me over the phone. I was just wondering if other people got news over the phone or were asked to attend in person?

    Hi,

    I had a breast biopsy this morning. The Dr had said that they would give me the results over the phone if everything was ok but if I needed to come back in to discuss it more or for more tests then they would arrange another appointment. I hope that helps. She didn't tell me when to expect my results back but she had said they were hoping to get them back for their MDT meeting tomorrow. 
     

    I'm already finding the wait agonising so goodness knows how you feel!

    Thank you that's really helpful. Fingers crossed it's not a long wait for you and I hope good news all around :happy:

    I have a phone appointment booked for tomorrow so as long as this doesn't get changed I will remain positive!
