I am very new to all this!

So my situation so far...

Last month I noticed a lump above my left clavicle, palpable and painless (at first)! I was sent home from work to get a covid test as I also wasn't feeling too great, kept getting hot sweats and felt quite achy! It came back negative.

The lump however was still worrying me. So I called NHS 111, who advised it was a reaction to the covid vaccine I had 2 weeks prior to the lump appearing. I called my GP the next day, still concerned about the lump, and she advised that if it was still there two weeks later to call back.

A couple of weeks afterwards the lump had started to shrink (or so I thought) so I thought nothing of it, assuming it would continue to do so until it went.

Two weeks later however the lump returned, this time with pain radiating across my shoulder and up my neck! So I called my GP again, who called me in for an examination.

He confirmed that the lump was a swollen lymph gland, and also that I had no other symptoms at the time that would suggest an infection. And that's when he said it 'Lymphoma'.

So he referred me for a two week wait, which I now have an appointment for next Thursday for an ultrasound. The hospital have also mentioned 'biopsy'.

I am just so shaken, the whole thing has happened so quickly and my anxiety is through the roof! 

I am dreading next week but then I just want to get it over and done with so I know what I am dealing with.

Has anyone else had an ultrasound/biopsy on a lymph gland? What do I have to expect from my appointment? And how long do I have to wait for the results/diagnosis afterwards?
