Referral to breast clinic

Hi Everyone!

Back in October 2020 I went to the doctors regards a lump on my right breast, unfortunately the doctor 'forgot' to referre me to the breast clinic, after chasing for months I was seen at the end of January 2021, I had a scan and they could see it was a cyst, containg protein so they aspirated it there and then. They also had noticed bleeding from my left nipple, when they squeezed it was pure blood, so they did an ultrasound and couldn't see anything, so I was then referred to see the consultant in February, once again I had some how been missed, and I'm finally seeing the consultant tomorrow.

I haven't had any bleeding for the last 3 weeks, however I now have a small red 'bump' under my nipple and to the left of it, they've been there for the last 2 weeks, one feels like a lump and the other does not.

I'm really concerned, I'm 26 years old, my little boy is 10 months old and I'm just petrified of anything being wrong. Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Thank you for reading all of the above!

  • Hi Hannah and welcome to the community.

How did you get on with the consultant the other day? I hope they were able to put your mind at ease about everything that's happened but if there's anything you'd like to discuss with our team of cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will share their advice and experiences with you soon as well.

    Kind regards,
