Hi I'm a 42 year old woman, non smoker, don't drink but I am obese. Two weeks ago I noticed I had a small white mark like a spot or ulcer on the right side of my tongue. It's not too sore but more uncomfortable and around it aches. I also get a sore ear as well. I've had this kind of thing before but it only lasted a day or two and it wasn't there when I got a left upper tooth out four weeks ago. And my dentist had a good look over my mouth and said nothing. Aswell as the lump, I also have a white burning tongue, pain in roof of mouth, a sore throat ( I've had trouble with my throat all my life so that's probably unconnected). I also get tiny little blisters that appear in my mouth then just dissaperes within hours. Looking for what it could be I googled and up came oral cancer, and I seem to tick the boxes, the white lump/spot, ear pain, mouth pain, and its more likely to be cancer if its on the side of your tongue. I'm going to the dentist this Tuesday coming as I can't take the worry anymore. My family all think I'm mad and it's an ulcer or I'm biting my tongue, but I hear those stories all the time where they thought it was something else and turned out to be cancer. I had a head and neck CT scan two weeks ago due to my neck so I'm not sure if cancer in my mouth would show up on that? I can hardly sleep with worry, I feel sick, my IBS is 0laying up but I can't think of anything else that can cause a lump on my tongue and pain around it. I'm driving my self mad with worry xx
