GBM4 survivor - was diagnosed in 2017

Hi Everyone..... I am amazed to still be alive after my 10/9/17 diagnosis day.

My goal in my "LIFE" is to help, support and talk to as many GBM4 people as possible, why?

I did Psychology for my degree, weirdly an MBA (I hate bragging!!! I'm not clever) I have 2 children (11&8) and I live with my separated "wife" (if anyone wants a coffee to discuss Pharmaceutical companies let me know). So, I have no doubt my "LIFE" is totally different to everyone else's, which is why I would to talk. I hate the thought of people struggling from a psychological perspective, because at least I could talk.

I find it embarrassing that my hospital classed as one of the best in the UK, Europe/World can only give me medicine?? What happens when the patient gets the drug from the pharmacy and walks out of the entrance? What "SUPPORT" is available? In my mind, too many "black holes" in GBM4 support.

I love my "LIFE"........ I'm not religious, but I "HOPE" (tattoo left wrist...) GBM4 patients know what to do with their "UNIQUE LIFE"...

I send everyone my BEST WISHES

  • Good afternoon

I was diagnosed with GBM4 in July 2019. Had the operation a week later, and touch wood it is stable no change. My consultant rings every 3 months to see how I am. I am 58 married with 2 children. Did you have to return your driving license? I have had mine suspended for 2 years as first indication was a seizure. Hopefully will get it back in September

    Regards

  • Hi John

Since 10/9/17 diagnosis, I've driven for one week, that's it. I believe it's a had a big impact on my family as my "wife" and I are separated. Not having my licence has actually forced "parenting" to my wife so I don't actually spend quality time with my 2 kids, tough. However, it is what is, and I'm loving my "LIFE". I hope you're happy, and living your "LIFE". I hope you're ok and gaining good connections for positive thoughts for you to mess around with.

    Best wishes

    Chris

  • Cheers Chris

I am good thank you. I got my tattoo with the brain cancer ribbon on it on my left inner arm. Not discreet, but not bothered what others think. Life is for living and take every day as it comes.
