Urgent Gynaecology

Hi I was just wanting to talk about an MRI scan that has shown up some abnormalities to my cervix I am so scared as I know from reading some of the forum chats that a lot of people feel scared especially waiting to see what's going on I'm all over the place just need to talk to someone that understands

  • If it's any consolation to know you're not alone, I'm in a similar boat. I've had problems with my coil (so my GP kept telling me) for over a year and I finally went to get it removed. It's not only lost, but the (different) GP discovered a lump inside my cervical canal, a rough and red patch on the cervix itself, a grey patch. When she asked me about if I had any other symptoms, she .was horrified that I hadn't been offered a check up, that what I was experiencing was not normal for the coil unless something wasn't quite right. Twinned with my horrific bleeding, abdominal and back pain, bleeding between periods, etc, I'm really worried. I'm in for tests next week. It's only 3 days since I found out and I haven't been able to get my mind off it at all. I totally understand how you're feeling. I'm sorry I can't help put your mind at ease.

  • Thank you so much for replying to me that means a lot I'm so sorry to hear of what you are going through I can relate to the going back and forth to the doctors to come out just as puzzled as you went in I'm the same I've only known for a couple of days and my head is going crazy

  • Hi LDP.

It’s very natural to feel worried and scared. I’ve had many pelvic MRI scans, so if there’s anything I can help with, please let me know.

  • Hello thank you so much it means a lot that you have replied to my message ️ My mind is in overdrive as I knew when I came out of the MRI scan that they seen something it was just the way she looked at me (I can't get it out my head) then I asked how long it would take for my results and she replied "I don't know with all that's going on but they will prioritise the scans" then I got my results within a few days I'm so scared. Is everything alright with you?

  • Hi LDP

I honestly don’t believe we can read anything into what look they have on their face after a scan. The staff at the scanner are not the experts interpreting the results. So, you’ve had your results already?

I am doing fine thanks...but I know things are very scary with scans and results. Do you need to have some treatment? x

  • Hi Minska

I know that sometimes you can't read into how someone looks at you but on this occasion i had that feeling by the way she looked that she knew something and my feeling was right as a few days later I received my results that there was abnormalities found and that I will be referred to gynaecologist on a urgent basis I was getting test done for something else so my head a bit all over the place x

  • Hi LDP

Ok...I understand...no wonder your head’s all over the place. I’m sorry they found something when they were testing for something else, but it’s good that they have done in that it can now get sorted out for you. x
