    Hi Jen,

A very warm welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry to hear why you've joined. You have done the right thing in getting this checked out. Have you been told when your biopsy results will be back? This is always a stressful time, so I hope that it won't be too long.

It is normal to have some discomfort in the area of the biopsy, but this will gradually settle down. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. In the meantime stay away from the internet until you know what you are dealing with, as this will only scare you further. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Sadly yesterday I was told I have inflammatory  cancer . Know awaiting an appointment with another doctor to discuss chemo . Have a great team looking after me. Don't think it's really sunk in yet ,but I'm going to be positive .

    Hi Jen,

This is not the news that anyone wants to hear and, it does take some time for it to sink in. I am sure that it all feels a bit surreal just now. It is only natural to feel 'why me?' and anger, even tears. Crying is a good release valve, so don't try to stem the tears if they come.

Have you been told what grade your cancer is yet? I am glad to hear that you have a great team looking after you - this makes all the difference, as you really need to have faith in your care team. Positivity is  something that helps too. None of us want a diagnosis like this, but we only get the one chance at life, so we've just got to make the most of every single day.

You will have a tough few months getting through chemo, but this time next year, this will all just be another of life's experiences and, you'll come out stronger for it.

I am the same age as you and, I have had two bouts of breast cancer in the past 11 years and am still living a busy and fulfilled life.

I hope that all goes well when you meet your oncologist. Please keep in touch. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jen,

v sorry that you got this news. It takes a while to sink in, I'm 2 yrs in may from diagnosis & thinking about it today I'm not sure it still feels real. It's great that you want to be positive & im a great believer in positive thinking. Things will settle down once you get more info & a plan - I like a plan & it made me feel better. My advice is to try to take 1 step at a time & to put ur trust in ur healthcare team because they will be amazing! Take comfort in their calmness because they will know what they are doing. I'd also advise you to get in touch with maggies, they are incredibly helpful. Stay strong.

    Hi Jen,

It sounds as if it was fortunate that you had your Covid jab in more ways than one, although you may not feel so at the moment.

Please keep in touch and let us know how your scan and appointments go. Remember that we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
