Large lump in left armpit

Hi,

2 weeks ago I found a large lump in my left armpit. It doesn't hurt but aches and I can feel it when sitting still or lying on that side (if that's makes sense) I've got pain in that arm and sometimes can't grip properly.

I went to the GP who menetioned about referring me to the breast clinic but gave me a weeks worth of antibiotics to see if it's a infection first. 
 

I'm trying not to stress and keeping up beat around my husband but I'm feeling unwell, body is aching like I've got the flu and I just don't feel right. I'm seeing the GP on Tuesday to see if the antiboctics have worked, if not then she's going to refer me. 

Has anyone experienced anything like this? I know everyone's different but any advice would be much appreciated as I feel like I'm going insane from fearing the worst and I'm trying so hard not to but can't help it.

    Hi Derora_Sam,

    A very warm welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. Have you noticed any change in the lump or the pain since you started the antibiotics? I am not a doctor, but I understand that it is unusual for pain to accompany breast cancer.

    I fully understand your worry and hope that your GP is happy when you see her on Tuesday. If not, it is always worth getting it checked out at the breast clinic, but I hope that there will be no need for this.

    Thanks so much for reply!

    The lump is still the same. It's my arm that the pain is in, it's like the lump is on a nerve - it's not consist, just after certain movements. 

    I'm praying come Tuesday the lump would have gone!! 
     

    Thank you again for reply. I've not spoke any of my friends and I'm really trying it keep upbeat as my husband is a worrier so it's nice to talk to someone about this. X

    Hi Debra_Sam,

    We all naturally worry when we find something like this. There is still time for the antibiotic to work and, I hope that it does. Even if it doesn't, it's not the end of the world, but you're as well to get it investigated. It is especially difficult for you when you are keeping this to yourself and have nobody to confide in. We all need some moral support at times.

    Please let us know how you get on when you see your GP on Tuesday.
