Abnormal smear/HPV and Colposcopy

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience to me so far and give some advice?  
 

My smear test came back as abnormal with high grade changes and HPV positive. I was advised to get a colposcopy as soon as possible which I had the following week.

During the colposcopy the consultant said my cervix looked healthy and that he couldn't see anything obvious. He took a few biopsies and I'm now waiting on the results. Absolutely stressed out and terrified waiting to see what's happening! 
 

Has anyone else had similar and can shed some light on possible outcomes? 
High grade but cervix looks healthy? Is this a good sign?

    Hi,

    my experience isn't similar however I have just had my colposcopy and also stressing so your not alone! 
     

    I had a smear that came back hpv negative but am experiencing abnormal spotting so was referred for colposcopy and he said that he could see a large area of abnormalities so took biopsy. 
     

    I don't see why they'd take a biopsy if they couldn't see anything abnormal but it's great they are being extra cautious. 
     

    keep positive as I'm sure everything will be fine :)

    Thanks for getting back to me! How did your biopsy go? 
     

    I got my results back last night which are cin3 pre-cancerous cells. I had the Lletz treatment done there and then and I've to go back in 3 months for another colposcopy.

    Hi,

    it went okay thank you except the bleeding lasted a lot longer then a week but all good now, been told it could take up to 6 weeks for the results though which is so long. 

    oh that's good, apparently the treatment is very successful so hopefully that'll be it for you :)

    will be much better when results back but so glad yours came back okay, gives me hope! X
