Waiting for breast clinic appointment

Hi, I'm 32 and just over a week I found a lump in my right breast, I made an appointment with my gp and she said she could feel that there was glandular tissue in both breasts but definitely more prominent in the right breast and referred me to the breast clinic, within a few days I received an appointment, it's next Wednesday so 8 days away. I'm not usually one to worry but I've been beside myself with worry since all this and driving myself mad thinking of the worse, I have 4 children under 10 and just don't know how I can cope with the waiting...hoping anyone can help with what to expect at the appointment and how to cope with the waiting

thanks

  • Hi I'm 35 and went to the gp in December with a large breast lump I've had for years but it had grown, while there she found another 3 so I was referred to the breast clinic. While there, I had an examination and and ultrasound, which I think you will have aswel. The sonographer wanted to biopsy the large lump and another smaller lump so she did it there and then. Got the results, the large lump is a harmless fibroadenoma and can stay but the smaller one has to come out for further testing.  I've to go back in next Tuesday for that procedure.

The waiting about is awful but please try not to fear the worst, as it will drive you mad. Focus on your kids and keep busy, I have an 8 year old. I also have lumpy tissue in my breasts, they are tiny aswel, so easy enough to feel. But lump wise, I have about 10 altogether. So dont panic, chances are you will have cysts or fibroadenoma, I know exactly how you feel.

Message anytime you want to chat, Kelsi x
