I have had a colposcopy this afternoon after receiving HPV positive and high grade severe results and the colposcopy was fine, it was very quick and didn't hurt at all. I had a doctor, trainee doctor and nurse assistant there and they were brilliant at chatting to me and distracting me. It felt like a smear, I barely felt anything. They told me straight away i should have LLETZ treatment as I have CIN3 cells so I had that and it was painless too. I had local anesthetic and could feel that when they put it in but it didn't hurt or cause pain, just a feeling. I think they took a biopsy too to send to the lab to confirm. 

Im waiting for my results and I'm petrified but hopefully they were able to remove them all and nothing has already developed into cancer. I'm fully aware they're going to ask me to come back for the results good or bad and they won't be in a letter so I will try and not to panic when I receive another appointment so try not to as well!
