Liver abnormality

Hello

I have recently had a liver ultrasound with what they thought was a haemangioma.
I have also been having liver functions tests over the last few months and my alt and ggt have been up and down but never over 110.
I also have itchy feet still at night but I had cholestasis when I was pregnant last year.
I had an MRI with contrast and the results were that it is possibly "a group of blood vessells" so basically a haemangioma. But I now have to go for another mri without contrast.

Why am I having to go for another mri without contrast? Are they looking for cancer or ?? Anyone with similar experiences?

thanks

  • Hello Alwaysgrateful

I'm sorry to hear about the ongoing liver issues that you're dealing with. I can understand how frustrating this may all be for you and how anxious the uncertainty can leave you feeling.

It sounds as if the recent MRI that you had didn't give clear answers and this is why the team has requested further imaging so that they can be as certain as possible about this area of interest on your liver.

We know that waiting for tests and results can be a worrying time. If you'd like to have a chat with one of our team of nurses I'm sure they will be able to offer some information and support. They're available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that you have some answers soon.

    Best wishes,
