DIEP flap reconstruction

Hello, I've just joined this group after having had a right sided mastectomy in April 2020 following a lumpectomy originally. I'm a bit overweight and had quite big boobs, so am considering having the DIEP flap reconstructive surgery. 

I was just wondering if any of you lovely ladies went for the DIEP and what were your experiences of it? Half of me (ha ha) wants to avoid any further surgery and just stay flat on one side, unsure if the surgery will be worth it in the end as I understand it's a big operation. 

Any input or replies greatly appreciated!
