Raised Ovary markers

Hi All

Hopimg someone can help me?.
For the last year I have had issues with my bowel especially during my period from diarrhoea to constipation the doctor have queried Endometriosis however last month these issues are now without a period and I went to the doctor for bloods test who then done a ovarian marker and it came back as 60 they have referred me to gynae for scans and also a colonectomy.
the referral form says suspected cancer!.
my platelets were slightly raised but of no concern to the doctor.

in December 2019 when I had a scan they found a fibroid could this be causing my levels??

so worries I am only 46

  • Hello catpowx,

A warm welcome to Cancer Chat! You did the right thing to go and see the doctor about this and I hope you won't have to wait too long to see the gynaecologist. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to be seen by a specialist. It's reassuring that despite your platelets being slightly raised, this was of no concern to the doctor.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
