Does my mum really have cancer?

My mum became sick during the first lockdown, she has told us all that she has cancer of the stomach, a tumour near her small intestine (these all different stories) and it's stage one. This is why she's lost so much weight in such a short amount of time. She used to vomit alot and has alot of acid reflux which she is on medication for. She went for a couple of scopes and was due to have the cancer removed thought the scope on Monday....she went for a covid test in the morning and was told to go back for 2pm to have this op and hour before I got a phone call from my mum saying it got canceled to me this is crazy! Something is not adding up, my mum lies alot Im just struggling to think she would be capable of lieng about something like this. She's told us it's because another surgeon wants to do the operation instead and she will need scopes every three weeks to check the tumour hasn't grown. I feel so bad double guessing her but I know deep down something is wrong. She's lied about having MS and having brain legions too not that she knows we know she's lieing but these haven't been spoken about for a good 2 years now so how can they have just disappeared ??

Any help or advice would be great!

  • Unfortunately only your Mum knows the truth of the situation but I've had three friends who have had scheduled surgery during covid and a test is done, then self isolation for five days regardless of the results, so arriving in the morning for a test and the operation the same day sounds wrong.  Why not ask Mum for her McMillan nurse telephone number, say just in case you need to check things for her, she can easily confirm that she is happy for them to talk to you so if she refuses I would wonder why.  Hope this helps a little bit.  Carol
