Husband struggling after radiotherapy for tongue cancer

I would like a bit of reassurance please,my husband has had radiothreapy for tongue cancer for 6 weeks and finished the course on 22 January, he still cannot eat or drink by himself and is on a feeding tube, he looks very frail and nothing like his former self, can some one give me some information of how thing go from hear, how long will it take for the radiation leave his body and when will things start to get back to normal, eating, drinking etc, Iam so worried, just need a little help in understanding how it all works.

    I'm sorry your husband has been having a tough time since finishing radiotherapy.
