Breast lump

Hi all, I'm.l new to the group. Got referred to the breast clinic and went for all the tests yesterday. Awaiting  results next week. I am so scarred. I am the worlds worst for Google and self diagnosing. The lump I have is between 1-2cm to the left of my nipple, deep inside. I had 3 biopsies and asked as many questions as I could. I remember asking can you tell if its anything bad and her reply was.... I wouldn't be surprised if you have to!!!!!!..... and thats it ! I can't remember  the crucial word she used to finish the sentence. It was either, tests, investigation or treatment. Because of this I am going out if my mind and am fearing the worst.

I am 38 with 2 children one of which is physically  disabled. I am so scared.

Have others had all the tests including biopsies and had a positive  result? She did ask me if I had suffered any breast trauma,  which I haven't but thought this was abit strange.

Thanks for listening

  • Hi LilyAnne55,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I know it's never easy while waiting for results and I'm sure it must all feel a little unsettling.

It sounds as if you made the most of your appointment in terms of asking all your questions. The waiting game is tough - it is a bit cliched but try to take things a day at a time and also keep yourself busy while you wait, to help keep your mind off things.

Do try to avoid Google as it is rarely helpful and the information is often irrelevant and only increases worry.

I know there'll be others here who have been through something similar so hopefully others with similar experience will see your post.

I hope it's not too long for you to wait to find out more.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
