Subungual Melanoma

hi I am new to this and was just wanting some advice or to hear other peoples stories on this. 
 

I have noticed a few months back a mark on my toenail and I knew it didn't look right but I let it go. It was never banged or hurt etc 

I decided to ring the doctor and attended today. She checked it out and said she would red flag it to the Hospital and mentioned a mole. As you could guess I left in tears and I am just thinking the worst. She said it would be 3 week wait and they will go in and examine it. 
 

so I'm wondering has anyone else experienced this?

    I'm glad you decided to get this checked by your GP although I'm sorry for the worry you have as a result of your appointment. I know it's scary when you find out you're being fast tracked but as you'll see here, 9 out of 10 people referred this way are not diagnosed with cancer.

    I hope the rest of the information on that page is able to put your mind at ease but I'm sure some of our members who have been through this will share their experiences and advice with you soon.

    We're thinking of you CCmead and will have our fingers crossed for good news in 3 weeks time.
