Waiting on second biopsy results

Hi you lovely people wanted to post today as things have hit me today and been really upset

I'm 55 went for a routine mammogram beginning dec 20  then had a call back, went 21 dec to find out I had a lump in my right breast had another mammogram and scan, was told it looked like fibroadenoma but couldn't be certain so I needed a biopsy which was done on the day appt booked for results min 4 jan

on 31 December had a phone call to say that my results were back and that something had shown up that they are concerned about and that I needed a second bigger biopsy with more tissue taken of the lump and surrounding area and appointment made for fri 8 jan

on Friday went to hospital had the doctor and a consultant in with me with a nurse and I had a vacuum biopsy were they took the lump out 1 cm and some tissue surrounding it as this is the only way to confirm what it is 

Results booked for 25th jan I been fine until today and it's just hit me and been upset,  I wil get my head round this but 2 weeks wait is going to be hard till I find out

Is this normal to be upset ?

    Of course its OK to be upset. It's the unknown that is the scariest part. 

    I also had a call back from my mammogram appointment. This was at the beginning of December, had a biopsy which unfortunately showed that I have cancer. I had an operation 29th December and have now been told they need to operate again as they didn't get everything out.

    I've had lots of days where I just need to cry. I'm so glad that I found this site as everyone has been helpful. If you can, stay away from Google as that always gives the worst case scenario.

    Come back and let me know how you get on at your appointment. Fingers crossed for you.

    thanks for your reply it good to know I'm not on my own and everyone goes through this

    like you found this site and it is helping and glad it's helping you too,  wishing you well for your next operation

    Hi I had a benign lump removed about 13 years ago now. I remember only too well how scary and upsetting the wait can be. 

    Am waiting now for thyroid biopsy after last one 2 and a half years ago. Still scary. Still emotive.

    Hi TracyFace,

    I amso sorry to hear that you were recalled after a routine mammogram. It is always a worrying time waiting for biopsy results and, all the more worrying when it needs to be repeated. This is because we are surrounded by so many unknowns and  our minds tend to  go into overdrive.

    I shall be thinking of you on 25th and hope that all turns out well.
