Undergoing investigstion

Hi lovely ladies, I am new to the forum. I'm 28 years old, married mother of 3. I have recently spoken to my doctor regarding recent symptoms of cervical cancer. I have had excessive and prolonged bleeding, increased discharge and severe pelvic pain that is unusual for me. My doctor has taken my bloods, given me hormone therapy to stop the bleeding and has requested an ultrasound as my last smear was positive for hpv. I have been attending pap smears every 3 months for the last 2 years but been unable to get an appointment due to covid. I was due a smear in April. I'm so worried. I've been feeling extremely tired in the last few weeks also, barely keeping myself awake from 4pm but struggling to sleep at bedtime! I really hope this is not cancer, and if it is I pray to god I'm in early stages. Does this sound at all similar to anyone elses experiences? Advice would be my j appreciated. Take care all

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some ongoing health concerns at the moment. It's understandable that you may be worried about what the cause of your symptoms may be and it's possible that your anxiety may be adding to your fatigue.

It's good to hear that your GP has started the ball rolling by requesting blood tests and an ultrasound and hopefully you won't have to wait too long for those results.

We know that waiting for tests and results can be a particularly difficult time and often it can help to talk things through with someone. If you'd like to speak to one of our team of nurses you're welcome to give them a call. I'm sure they would be happy to offer some advice and support. If you'd like to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,
