I don’t understand why I’m working with

Hi,

Im new to the forum. Over the first lockdown my mum was diagnosed with Carcinosarcoma of the endometrium. Since then my mum has had an op and chemo. New Year's Eve she was told that the cancer had spread whilst having chemo. Radiotherapy can still go ahead as planned to keep it at bay but there is nothing left that can be done. The cancer we are told is rare, so there is not much understanding on what may happen.
As I could not go into the appointment I don't know or understand what that means in time, what to expect or what even is the understanding of this type of cancer. I don't want to ask my mum as she will not tell me the truth to protect me.
has anyone any understanding, experience or advice to share with me?
thank you

  • Hi Jsr,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm so sorry to read about what your mum is going through - I can only imagine how tough this must be for you.

I can understand you must have questions about this. Unfortunately I'm not able to advise, but if you'd like to talk things through with our nurses then you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Otherwise, I'd suggest trying to speak to your mum if possible, and perhaps explaining why you'd like to know more.

Meanwhile, if you ever need support or a safe space to simply write things down, then we're always here on this forum.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
