Ca125

Hi, so I had an "incidental" finding of raised ca125 in early December of 370....... Urgent referall to gynae who did an internal exam, no obvious masses and not "unduly" concerned she said. Ordered an urgent mri which I had 3 days ago was told to wait upto 14 days for report. I had bloods redone yesterday to check for ca125 levels. I've put off panicking and concentrated on kids and Christmas up to now. But I just feel like this waiting is too much (hence being awake at 3am) I mean what if the CA125 is raised further and I still don't have mri results. Now beginning to worry and panic

  • Hi, What size was your cyst when they found it ? Will they rescan in the future to see if it's gone ? Also what could you feel from the cyst ? I can just feel a pressing feeling as if I have some jeans on with something in my pocket. I feel abit calmer today & have managed to eat some food so pleased about that. Thanks for answering my questions xx

  • My cyst was small something that comes with pcos or my period. I just felt pressure and pain. They discharged me. But if I've any problems I can be referred back to them. It's quite possible a cyst. Saying you had one years ago. They gynaecologist will tell u everything next week. Your in good hands. Hope you have your answers soon. Try to think positive there's so many others reasons rather than what u think it is. And remember your number low.

  • Hello

I know this is an old thread but did you get to the bottom of your raised ca125 ? Mine came back at 60 yesterday - it has been raised before (55 last year but then returned to just under 31) but it's such a worry.

    really hope your ok.

  • Hi, Yes I went to see the consultant and from when I walked in the room he said don't worry as I am not concerned about your raised CA125. He said he would only be worried if it was in the thousands so that made me feel better straight away! Anyway he did a small examination to see if he could feel any cysts which he didn't so he arranged an ultrasound a couple of weeks later. I had to get a blood test a week before I was due to see him again which was a bit of a Pfaff because there wasn't a lot of appointments at the moment and I've also heard now that there isn't a lot of vials at the moment so only emergency blood tests are going ahead and mine wasn't emergency so maybe you might get this problem but try not to worry. When I had my 1st blood test I was on my period which does raise your CA125 levels so he said that would've been to do with that but when I had the ultrasound the lady told me there and then I had a small cyst on my ovary but it was very tiny and she said that could be another reason why the levels were higher than normal anyway she said to me there's nothing to worry about so don't worry but I still had to go back and see the consultant a couple of weeks later. Anyhow when I had the second blood test I had just finished my period and my levels have come down to 45 so the consultant was also pleased about that but he said it's her duty to check people out if they're CA125 is 60 or above you'll probably find you have either a fibroid or a cust. try not to worry because your levels are very low. He said people with cancer are in the thousands so that made me feel better but I was so worried and could not sleep for days and days after the doctor rang me at the start of all this and told me the levels with high. I'm here if you need to chat anymore xx

  • I'm exactly the same, can't sleep , can't eat, I'm crying all the time, I'm waiting for a scan, I'm petrified x
