Having just had my cyst removed and got results back as benign , no further action , I thought it might put some ones mind at rest to hear my story.
It started last year with me falling off a ladder resulting in backache , after seeing doctor for meds pain moved to side My Gp decided to check my kidneys out which after ultrasound and .ct scan , resulting in no kidney stones but , they had spotted something on my right ovary , strangely the pain was on the left
I had a phone the day results came., with an urgent internal scan appointment....sending me into complete panic and shock they were amazing with me reassuring me all the way .I was handed over to gynae oncology Where the consultant was pretty sure it was a Dermoid cyst presenting as small 4 cm
Due to my age (66) he recommend laparoscopic surgery cyst , ovaries and fallopian tube removal .
this was done 3 weeks ago .I was terrified , recovery has been fine pain no worse than period pain and able to walk straight away , please any older women going through this dont think it's the end like I did .
I know I was very lucky it was found early ,but
Know how worrying and lonley the whole process getting diagnosed and treatment is so hope my story helps some one .x
