Hi, l have just been diagnose with MGUS. Had a blood test via the allergy clinc and was refered to hamatology. l was told via the telephone that l have had MGUS for the last 3 years. lt was a shock to me that l had anything.

Was told my numbers have increased from 2017 until now. I was told to attend for a CT scan.

l had to google about MGUS for myself. Still confused with the numbers and light chains. All of this was not explained over the phone. My Gp stated that she will read up on what MGUS is. So there's no help there for me.

Can someone please explain light chains paraprotein and the kappa.
