Post menopausal bleeding

Hi

I started bleeding in September, 18 months after my last period and my doctor referred me immediately to see a gynaecologist. Scan showed my womb lining was 15mm, I had several polyps and an ovarian cyst.  I was put under general anaesthetic to have the polyps and cyst removed.  Thankfully everything came back clear and I was discharged.  I am however still having very heavy bleeding which is also irregular.  Does anyone know if the bleeding will eventually stop?

  • Hello Manda and welcome to the forum.

    I'm sorry you've still been having some bleeding since getting the all clear. If you're worried it would be best to get back in touch with your GP as they'll be able to answer your questions and let you know if this needs to be looked at again.

    Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar position will share their thoughts and experiences with you soon but fingers crossed in the meantime that the bleeding stops by itself.
