I just wanted to pop on and post a reply to you both as I can see from your posts that you're feeling overwhelmed by the news that you've had recently. 

I know many of our members here will understand what it feels like when you hear the news that you have cancer. The bottom often falls out of your world - typically for a short while - whilst you try to make sense of what you've been told and what the consequences of this news may be. 

It sounds incredibly positive that the Consultant is talking about a full recovery at this stage. Yes there will be scary and probably difficult times ahead but once you have the results of your CT scan and the rest of the pathology results the team will be able to put a treatment plan in place. That certainly can help to make things easier once you know exactly what the plan will be. 

This time of waiting and uncertainty can be very difficult for lots of people and often it can help to talk to a professional about how you're feeling. It's unfortunate that that option isn't immediately available to you because of the Christmas break but I'm going to suggest that you give our team of nurses a call on Tuesday when they are back in the office. I know that they will be able to offer you some support and advice ahead of your next appointments. 

In the meantime, it's always a good idea to avoid consulting Dr Google for advice. I'm afraid that you won't find answers but you will end up feeling even more anxious about things. Try to keep busy and don't think too far ahead as again this will cause you more worry. 

You're both welcome to post here on the forum. Hopefully some of our members will stop by to share their experiences and offer support when they see your post.

I am so sorry to hear about this diagnosis. It is always a shock when you get news like this, but it is not the end of the world, even though it may feel like it.

As Jenn has already said, it is good news that the surgeon still feels that it is treatable and recoverable from. I have been battling breast cancer for the past eleven years and am currently awaiting my third diagnosis. You will find it so much easier to cope with all that is happening if you can turn things around and put a more positive slant on the way forward.

Try to steer clear of consulting Dr Google. Much of the information there is poorly researched, out of date and aimed at the spectacular. You will find that this will only scare you both further for no useful purpose. Have you been told when your results will be availaible? Do please let us know the outcome. We are always here for you.
