Sore nipple

I just wondered if anyone on here had experienced this and gotten a diagnosis. To clarify I have been to the GP and been to the breast clinic, at both examinations they have found nothing sinister or anything to worry about so I'm not too concerned that it is anything bad. But for nearly two months now, I've experienced a sore stinging sensation in my right nipple which seems to come and go. No rash, discharge or any changes. I've tried a course of steroid cream, checked my bra was fitted properly and also changed washing tablets and shower gel to hypoallergenic. The nipple has always been inverted, so I'm not sure if that's contributing. The pain and irritation is very annoying, and I'm not sure what else might be causing it, and wondered if anyone on here had experienced anything similar?

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Clifton32.

I'm glad to hear that you have taken action and visited the GP about your what may be going on with your breast and that they didn't find anything too concerning.

Hopefully, other ladies who have been in the same situation will be here shortly to chat with you and offer their opinion, perhaps a suggestion on what can help alleviate the pain and irritation you're experiencing.

Also, feel free to give our nurses and ask any question you may have. Their lines are open Monday - Friday between 9 a.m - 5 p.m on 0808 800 4040, except for the holidays.

    Best wishes,
