Hi there,
Just looking for a place for some advice and to gain a bit of understanding of what is going on.
I am Victoria, 30 and a bit worried. I had a smear test in January of 2019 which come back as HPV high risk with some cell changes. In April 2019 i had a coloscopy with LLetz done on the same appointment to remove cells. It was very intense and i was shocked that they did it there and then. I was then told to have a follow up smear 6 months later.
Had a smear October 2019 and results come back that i was still HPV positive but was being discharged from hospital and any further treatment. Was told to have a smear in 12 months.
Had my smear this year (last month). Ive had a letter to say that i have to go back to coloscopy due to high risk HPV and changes. I also had another letter sent from the laboratory stating that i had been discharged due to an admin error last October and should have had more a referral back to coloscopy for more treatment then however i have been left for a further 12 months with cell changes and high risk HPV.
I am just wondering if anyone has any idea on the damage this may cause? Am i right to be worried sick? I'm trying not to blow it out of proportion but don't know what to think.
Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Victoria
