Nodule

I was sent for a CT scan for my kidneys. The scan came back as normal except it showed a 12mm nodule on my right breast.

To be honest, when the GP rang he first used the word lump, then swollen node. His boss used the word nodule when I chased up what was happening.

They've referred me to the breast clinic and my appointment is the 30th Dec. I can't feel anything in my boob and mammogram in April was normal. GP said it may be scarring may be cancer. I'm finding it all rather confusing. I don't understand why the CT scan wasn't sent to the breast clinic for their analysis instead of just a sentence on a report sent to GP.

Has anyone else had this? I've only just got over a biopsy on my uterus as they thought it was too thick. They called to say it was ok then next day ring to say this about the kidney scan. Has knocked me for 6.

  • Hello Nanny-gee,

It won't be long now until you have your appointment at the breast clinic and I hope that you get some answers soon on all this as I can imagine it must all be rather confusing. Hopefully you will hear from others here who have been in a similar situation and they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out to be fine and best of luck for your appointment on the 30th

    Best wishes,

  • Hi I am in the same situation. I had GIST in my stomach so I have yearly CT scans to check all is ok after partial gastrectomy. I got the results and they've found a 10mm nodule in my breast. I'm at the breast clinic on Tueaday and going out of my mind with worry. Can I ask what happened with yours? X
