Breast lump for 3 years

So im having a right panic I've had the same lump for 3 years i went to the docs 3 years ago about it the doc said it was my normal breast, i just accepted it because 2 years before that i went for a scan and got told i have lumpy breats and cysts and it was just changes after having my baby.

I get a burning felling thats gos away when i get my contraception injection so I've just put it down do hormones.

So fast forward to last saturday i do a check and think it feels bigger, no change in breast size or  nipple.

I booked a GP appointment on monday and she said she would normaly ask the patient to retun  in 2 weeks to see if it was hormones but because I've noticed it for a while she will refer me.

If it's cancer its been there for a while. Im 40 with a small child hubby works at sea we have no family near by.  Referrals are 2 to 3 weeks this time of year she said.

    Hi Kjsd,

    Welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear about your lump, but you are doing the right thing in getting it tested again. Many ladies have naturally lumpy breasts, so if this is the diagnosis you had  3 years ago, here's hoping that it will still be the same.

I know that this is a worrying time, because you are thinking of all the possibilities and, for some reason or other, we always seem to think the worst. Worrying won't change the outcome, so do your best to enjoy Christmas and put it to the back of your mind for now. Only 1 person in every 8 referred to the breast clinic gets a cancer diagnosis, so the odds are still in your favour.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
