Nipple changes

I noticed about 2 days ago whilst drying my hair that both my nipples (my right more than my left) have changed in appearance. When my arms are raised my nipples invert slightly causing a dent/dimple. I spoke to my GP who has referred me to a breast clinic at my local hospital. Should I be concerned?

    Hi Franciz,

    Welcome to our forum.

It is impossible to say whether you should be concerned or not. The consultant at the breast clinic will examine you and may send you for some tests. It usually takes 1-2 weeks to get the results of these and, this is when you will know if the news is good or bad.

Of all the people referred to the breast clinic, only 1 person in every 8 referred will end up with a cancer diagnosis, so the odds are still in your favour. Do you have a date for the breast clinic yet? Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

I hope that it all goes well.

    Kindest regards,

    Jolamine xx
