  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Maxinep.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, but I'm glad you took charge and had your symptoms checked.

You mentioned you're going back to the doctors today for your test results and a hysteroscopy, but you didn't say the time, so I was wondering how you are. If you had your appointment already, I hope they found nothing sinister. If you haven't yet, I hope all goes well for you. Once you find a moment, please come back to let us know how you're getting on.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hi Im in a similar situation Im 60 15 yrs post Menopause and had 1 bleed in 4th Dec. Doc sent urgent referral waited until hospital called fri 8th Jan gave me appointment on Monday 11th. Had scan, internal, Hysteroscopy and took a biopsy. Then he told me so many things and jargon that Ive forgot lots of it. I didnt sleep since so I called secretary and its at least 4 week wait for my results. Oh well it is what it is. Ive been bleeding since Monday and aches n pains. I did get a sleep last night though.  You always think its just you and dont want to burden people with it all and Im finding these chats are helping.

I hope you get answers very soon, take care and all the best, Jen

  • Hi, they said at Hysteroscopy that everything looked ok apart from polyps, they took a biopsy, went back this Monday for them to remove the polyps, they did this and then put in a mirena coil, she said this would help reduce the chance of them coming back.  I Then got a call on Tuesday that said the first biopsy had come back with advanced pre cancer condition called hyperplasia with atypia and could not rule out co-existent cancer so bit of a shock, she called and said I have been put on the urgent list for a hysterectomy, so hope it has all been found early,

  • Its very scary, I'm just trying to stay busy now, if I think about it I convince my self every pain means its all over you body, I'm sure its not but very difficult when you don't know, I must admit they have been fantastic the nurses are all so caring, I just need to be patient

  • Oh absolutely do hope its soon for you and you can put it all behknd you. its torture waiting, Im trying to make jewellery as much as poss this week.

I just remembered when I read hyperplasia and atypia, that the consultant was talking about these things to me too.  So thats quite important, thank you for jogging my memory.  Please take xare and let us know how you are getting on.

  • Thank you I will stay positive
