NHL and Hodgekins

Morning, has anyone had any similar experience please. My Mum was diagnosed with Non hodgekins 9 years ago, she was put on the watch and wait. More recently the past3 months she has become really ill, we presumed this was the NHL. After 10 weeks of tests she was diagnosed with hodgekins lymphoma. The consultants did not expect this, they said it is very rare for someone to have both cases? They are still doing some tests to find out if the HL has been caused by the NHL, or if it is a new cancer? They will start treatment next week, and then re scan her to see if it is doing anything as they are unsure if this will work

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Leanne although I'm sorry to hear about the turn of events in your mum's diagnosis.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will get back to you soon but if you'd like to discuss this with one of our cancer nurses they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. It may be worth heading over to Lymphoma Action for more information and advice as well.

Wishing your mum all the best with her treatment next week.

    Kind regards,
