Worried

Hello I'm a bit worried. I have just come back from the optician and they have said to me I need to be seen at the hospital because there is a tilt in my optic nerve as it could be a sign of a tumour. However at my last appointment 3 years ago the optiction said the same thing about my optic nerve and she didn't think it was a concern unless I start to get head aches.

So now I'm all in a state and very anxious about it. I dont have any symptoms I rarely get head aches or sickness and if i do paracetamol will stop it. Should I be worried or am I being silly. Thank you

  • Hello Verity91,

It's good that they are being thorough and have referred you to be seen at the hospital but try not to worry too much about it if you can until you have your appointment. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your hospital appointment. It's good that you haven't had any headaches or any other symptoms.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
