Hard lump

Good morning, 

I could be worrying over nothing but i have found a hard lump in my Sons's outer thigh. It doesnt bother him and it cant be seen on the outside. 

After calling the GP i was told it didnt need to be seen, so i rang for a second opinion. Saw a GP yesterday who is reffering him for an ultrasound. 

It is just slightly bigger than a pea, doesnt move and is hard. 

Obviously i am worried as they thought on the phone it is a Lipoma however after looking at him doesnt think it is that now. And my mind is going straight to Cancer.

    I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. You did the right thing to ring the GP for a second opinion and it's good that this GP took things seriously and is being thorough. I hope you won't have to wait too long for the ultrasound. 

    I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. 

    I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you. 

    Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine for your son.

    Hi lucie, 

    Thank you for replying to me, i am trying not to be too anxious but its so hard. The dr doesnt think it is a Lipoma and it doesnt match any other NHS explanation of a lump in the muscle on the outer thigh :( 

    Thank you again hopefully the scan is quick and we have the results fast. 

    Ive never felt so terrified it makes me feel nasuious but yes i think staying away from google will help me

    Update: He is due a scan on the 22nd December to find out what it is :/ dr already said he doesnt think its a Lipoma. Has anyone else had this before?

    hope all is well 

     

    I'm currently in the same place and due to book a doc app as I found a hard lump the size of a marble on my outer right thigh. 
    I'm 24 and wondering what else it could be as google don't help with that, 

     

    was wondering have you received results

    Hi TalkingHelps,

     

    They think the hard lump is from where he had his immunizations however at the same time they want to keep an eye on it so they are rescanning in a couple of months and im keeping an eye at home. 

     

    Im sure it is just a hard nodule left by the injections. 

    Booking an app is best, i hope you get on okay and its nothing serious
