Diagnosed with breast cancer

Hi , 

So after a whirlwind couple of weeks, I went for my biopsy results today. I have to have a mri now and then will get a treatment plan. The ultrasound and mammogram show the lump as two different sizes hence the need for the mri. 

I'm only 32 and its very overwhelming, I'd convinced myself in the waiting room there was no way it could be the big c. I dont know how to feel, thankfully its only primary but funnily enough this doest make me feel any better. :( 

I'd love to chat to anyone going through the same thing hence why I'm here.

    Hello Rachie and Gina and the rest of you lovely ladies,

    Just wanted to say hello and share where I'm at - never been on a chat forum before, let alone a cancer one. All feels very weird and like I'm having an outer body experience.

    Found a lump on Monday, GP appointment Monday afternoon, followed by breast clinic today - which was beyond brutal.

    3 mammograms, a scan, a double biopsy, followed by a consultation with three specialists telling me to prepare myself for the worst and that my next appointment would be to discuss my treatment plan.

    Arrived at 10am and left at 3pm completely blindsided. It's all happened in three days and I can't tell if I'm coming or going.

    Suppose the only thing I'm clinging on to is that I'll feel better and more in control once I know what the next steps are.

    I hope its stage 1, but I'll just need to take it as it comes. Next appointment is one week from today, which means I need to just try and remain upbeat for my daughter. She's 9 and can't wait until Christmas.

    My husband is being lovely and I'm now in bed eating Heinz tomato soup whilst watching Sex and the City.

     

    I'm not really in a place to offer support as I'm just so shocked...but I wanted to join your gang and say one thing...we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for and we have to keep reminding ourselves of that.

    Oh Keli, what a nightmare few days you've had. I assume you had to go to breast clinic on your own too, making this all so much more traumatic.

    Hi Gina

    I got formally diagnosed on Friday 13th of all days with invasive ductal breast carcinoma,  I had my first bout of chemo yesterday don't feel to bad to be honest but I have been told about 3 days until the side effects kick In. Would live to hear facts from others. You're correct when you say the waiting is the worst it really is. Sending live to you all x

    I have currently just finished chemo and have my op booked for jan

    it certainly has not been an easy ride but talking, asking questions or even just a cry now abd again have helped me through

    Thank you for the reply and congratulations on completing your chemo and  I hope you are feeling  a bit better. I'm feeling ok at the moment 2nd chemo booked in on the 29th December.

    Awwww I'm so sorry regarding your diagnosis , it must feel like such a whirlwind 

     

     

    I'm so sorry that I can't offer any advice but want you to know that I'm thinking of you and if you want to chat I'm here x

    I'm really struggling tbh , 

    I just can't help but think about it 24/7 

    I know my appointment won't be until after Christmas so I have to just try and muddle through as best I can

    Hi all you lovely brave ladies, this is my first post on here or any where, so apologies if I have not done it correctly!

    Stay positive, I have finished my chemo and have just had my operation on my right breast (9th Dec)

    I had a procedure called a therapeutic mammoplasty, a type of lumpectomy.  All looking good at the moment, just a little sore.  I have a follow up appointment on christmas Eve to get my results, so I have my fingers crossed that it will be a nice Christmas present.

    Still a way to go for me as I will have to undergo radiotherapy and then a years worth of targeted therapy due to the type of cancer that I have. HER2 positive.
