Just been referred and now really scared.

Hello everyone

After a week or so of sharp pain in my right breast, I had a good old feel around this morning and discovered a lump underneath my breast.

I went to the GP and she has referred me to the breast clinic. She said she wasn't 'freaked out' but it's best just to get it checked as they can SEE what's going on, rather than just FEEL.

These posts have all been so helpful, but I'm really struggling with whether or not to tell my husband as I know he will worry and we're all just about to finish up for the christmas break and were so looking forward to spending some stress free time together (as work and lockdown have been really hard on us).

Apparently I'll be seen in a couple of weeks and I feel like I won't be able to pretend not to be scared for that long, but I also don't want it to cast a shadow over the household (I have a 9 year old daughter). I'm not very good at hiding how I feel.

Did anyone else just keep it to themselves until they knew for sure?

Thanks all. Sending a big positive hug out to everyone.
