Hard lump pea size lump under nipple

Hi everyone.
I've found a pea sized hard lump under my left nipple.
Attended my docotors appointment this evening who have said they want to refer me to my local hospital.
The lump isn't rooted, I can bring it to the surface of my skin and it's like a hard white lump. Contestant dull aching pain in my left breast.

Im driving myself insane, my anxiety it's through the roof. I'm a 29 year old , healthy mum of a 3 year old. I breast fed for 2 years and I'm not over weight.

I can't deal with how worried I am! X

    Hi Amy-A,

A very warm welcome to our forum,

I am so sorry to hear how worried you are about your referral.  We all tend to get very worried at this stage and our minds go into overdrive. Rest assured that this is perfectly normal. It is really hard to deal with so many unknowns. Whatever you do, try to steer clear of Google, as this will only scare you further for no purpose.

Your doctor doesn't have the facilities to hand to test your breast, which is probably why  your doctor has referred you. It normally takes about 2 weeks to get your appointment from the date of referral. Only 1 person in every 8 referred will receive a cancer diagnosis, so the odds are on your side It is also less usual your someone of your age to be diagnosed, although not impossible. There are a number of different reasons for lumps. As you only stopped breast feeding last year, it could be to do with this or it could be a simple cyst.

Try to keep yourself busy until your appointment comes through. This will help to pass the time and, shouldn't be too difficult at this time of year.

Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

Keeping my fingers crossed for good news.

    Kindest regards,

    Jolamine xx
