One stop breast appointment

I am 46, I had a full hysterectomy 6 years ago due to endometrial cancer. I saw my gynae consultant last week, and told her that I have been getting "period pains" each month including incredibly painful, tender breasts, which she was very concerned about, as apparently after the hysterectomy I stopped making hormones which would cause any breast pain. She also found a lump, also my skin has gone a.little weird on my left breast so I am going to a one stop appointment on December 11th. Hell of a trek to get to it, setting off at 6am to get their for 8.30 appointment (my hospitals breast unit closed due to Covid). Lots of female cancers on both sides of my family, safe to say I am terrified

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community MamaJ15 although I'm sorry for the reason you're joining us.

I know this can seem scary but many of our members have been through this process so you're not alone and I'm sure some of them will be along soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

In the meantime, I just thought I would share some information I've found on the Breast Cancer Now website which explains what may happen at your appointment. I hope this helps and all goes well on the 11th.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
