Suspected Lymphoma

Hi, I found what felt like a lump above my left collarbone about 4 weeks ago, I went to see the Doctor and he sent me for a urgent ENT appointment within 2 weeks. 
 

When I had my appointment the consultant said she thought it was a piece of soft tissue or muscle but would refer me for a urgent scan to make sure. 
 

I had my ultrasound scan this week and they have found enlarged lymph nodes in my Supraclavicular area on both sides of my neck, the right side being larger (I can't feel these and neither could the consultant upon checking me.

 

I was told it was possible Lymphoma by the scan results and I'll be going for a CT scan of my head, neck, chest and abdomen on Monday and also a core biopsy in the next week or so too.

 

I know they have to tell me worse case scenario but has anyone had any benign results from this.

 

I am 33, 2 children under 4, very healthy, don't smoke or drink alocohol, no symptoms of lymphoma.

    ah really? It's such a stressful wait isn't it. 
    when are you booked in to have it?

    did they give you any indication what they thought it was when you had your ultrasound x

    Thanks for reply. I got a private ultrasound as the waiting time is way too long , I'm in Ireland.  And she wouldn't tell me anything. She recommended urgent referal for biopsy and the report said growth of 1cm x 2cm of concern. 

    I dont know what if is like in the UK but here you've to see a consultant first and then they put you forward for a biopsy.  It's all too long , so basically I saw consultant and I'm having biopsy tomorrow. The consultant terrified me in terms of he gave no reassurance.  

    How did you get on with your biopsy xx

    I have my biopsy on Thursday which is my birthday so that's pretty rubbish.

    I have been waiting over 2 weeks for this it's making me ill.

    I went with a lump on my left side and they said I had them both sides but now the left side lump has gone. 
     

    can't deal with the anexiety for much longer xx

    Will be wishing you the best for Thursday and me for tomorrow , I had an 11 week wait between ultrasound and the biopsy and my mental health has declined so badly into thinking the worst because of that wait. 

    Do what you need to to get through the next few days x

    11 weeks that's insane, I was under then 2 week NHS pathway (i think it's called) so I have to be seen within 2 weeks of the request.

    I feel fine in myself I have 2 young boys 3 & just 1.

    i think I will need help for my anexiety after this as it's destroyed me.

    Sleepless nights, poor appetite, low mood etc xx

    had my PET scan this morning, glad it's over. Just awaiting results now.

    Hi,  I'm ok , not doing too good to be honest with the worry. I haven't recieved any results from my needle biopsy, two weeks ago now and I'm booked in for an ultrasound guided biopsy thus monday.

    My head is absolutely in tatters over it, it's just gone on way too long now , my nerves are done and I feel the fear very much h.

    Not sure if this means they are not telling me something and want to know exactly what it is before they tell me,  or if the results are just not back yet. 

    I haven't had a pet scan, is that just another way to look into all the lymph nodes in the area? 

    Hope you're doing ok and keeping positive
