Pain

I had a WLE and SNE 3 weeks ago for a Grade 2 melanoma on the upper part of my back. I can't understand why I still have so much pain. When they did the first incision for what was expected to be a BCC , it was uncomfortable for a week or so but nothing like this. It's a long wound and I am still putting eye ointment (given to me when I had the stitches out) on it and a dressing.

I am 81yrs old and am the Principal Carer for my 85yr old husband.

What I'd like to know is this amount of pain normal? How long will it go on?

  • Hello AntsNest,

Poor you this does sound rather painful from your description. As you mention this is a lot more painful than when they did the first incision, it would be a good idea I think to give your doctor or your specialist a call. Do mention that you are in an awful lot of pain and whether this is to be expected and if there is anything they can give you to help you at the moment. It does sound like you need to talk to a medical expert about this so don't hesitate to give them a call tomorrow.

I hope the pain subsides very soon.

    Best wishes,
