Nipple changes

Hello

I just wanted somewhere to talk really for advice.

I've had nipple changes since April this year. It started with my nipple becoming sunk in right in the middle then over the months burning sensation, the skin on my nipple is now more purple in colour than pink and the texture is rough with patches of much darker colour. Ive had pink/red discharge pain that comes out of know where and also a strange small blister that goes dark purple then flakes off which is on the side of my nipple when its not dark purple the skin just keeps flaking off.

I decided that I would give the gp a call as itching and burning was driving me crazy.

Without seeing me he referred me to the breast clinic under the 2 week guidelines.

I was seen yesterday and just not listened to at all? I said to the doctor that I've felt no lumps its my nipple and explained (well tried) but he didn't seem interested at all. I said I could show him photos of the changes but again not interested. He said that if my nipple could still become erect then its not inverted ( it definitely is)

So I had a mamagram and ultra sound  which have come back clear and no lumps which is obviously great news, but I asked the scanning doctor about my nipple and the changes and her reply was im here to look underneath your skin not to look at your nipple skin.

I went back into the doctor to get results of scans and asked about the nipple changes and all my symptoms and he gave me not one answer just looked at me to leave?

I've known and lived in my body for 38 years so I know when something is changing?  and just feel a bit left  in the learch now  with no explanation.

Sorry this is so long I was just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this and what I should do really?

Oh I should mention i am not pregnant, or recently had children and symptoms dont get worse when I'm due on my period...if any of this helps

Thank you for reading

  • Hello Sharon82

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns recently and that you're still concerned after your appointment at breast clinic. It's good to know that nothing was picked up on the tests that you had and I'm sure that has given you some small reassurance.
As you're still worried it would be a good idea to get back in touch with your GP and explain how you're feeling and ask for an appointment. Hopefully they may be able to help get to the bottom of what is causing your symptoms.

I do hope things improve soon.

    Best wishes,
