General Advice Needed Please!

Hi everyone, I wasn't sure whether to post in this forum or not as nothing has been confirmed yet but I was just looking online and no where really seems to have any answers or advice!

I'm a 17 year old male and live alone. About 6 weeks ago I found a lump just above my adam's apple. I went to the doctors, as I had fainted, headaches and joint pain etc. I was given medication for Vitamin D deficiency.

Since then however, Lump A has grown and a further 2 lumps have appeared on my neck (Lump B on the side and Lump C nearer the jaw line).

Ive had these examined by my doctor and she has done my tenth lot of bloods in the last 6 weeks! She's sent me for an urgent liver ultrasound, and has said dependant on results I may need referring to a specialist - in case it's more serious.

However she hasn't really given me much information. If any of you could help with a few questions that would be great!

- How long does it usually take for an appointment to be made for an ultrasound (she said it was an urgent scan)?

- Has anybody had any similar experiences? What was it like, did anything arise from the tests?

- Has anybody got any idea what this could actually be?

Thanks!

  • Hello Zachy17,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your ultrasound. Perhaps you could ask the hospital or your doctor how long these referrals are likely to take these days and whether they already have a date for your appointment?

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. Unfortunately no one on the forum will be able to help you understand what this might be as only the medical experts will be able to find this out. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
