Hello ,again

Been a few years since I've been on here. I'm feeling like history is repeating itself. I'm off for a gut hormone test tomorrow two days after finding out I have an abnormal growth on my pancreas.

I'm truly my mother's daughter.

If I can help while I'm here I will do my best and I hope everyone is doing well

Abby

  • Hello AbbyB

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently found out about a growth on your pancreas. I can see from some of your other posts that you've already been referred to the specialist teams ahead of your results. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long and if the results indicate any treatment is needed then they will be on top of things for you.

If you'd like to speak to one of our nurses at any point then please do give them a call. I know they'd be happy to chat things through with you and offer any advice and support that they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Jenn,

Thanks for the response.  It's happened really quick. From doing a baseline check to be safe and expecting nothing to being under 4 teams for this growth.

It's such a confusing time. I've a CT scan that says one thing and I have a genetic counselor telling me that Im negative for MEN1 so it won't be a NET...

Thankfully whatever it is it's been caught early.

My main worry now is the possible meeting of my consultant as it's the same one that treated my mother for her VIPoma 24 years ago. :confused:

now it's the case of being  positive while being realistic, not getting tied up with googling (even if it does show the advances in treatment)  and trying not to miss my mum..
