Need some advice - 18 Year old female worries

Hi lovely people ...

So I've had this lump in my neck coming up for a year now I was told it is glandular fever back in December 2019.
3 weeks ago I say to the doctor can I have another blood test as I am worried as it hasn't gone away . So a week ago she calls me and says nothing has shown up and that I should go on amoxicillin for a week to see if my swelling would go down . Yesterday my lymph node glands have started to swell and today I have found blood in my pee. What should I do? With coronavirus I am terrified to catch something should I call up the doctor?

Also I wanted to let you know my grandfather passed away from lymphoma so I don't know what to do am I being a hypochondriac?

  • Hello and a big welcome to our forum!

Given that you have just found blood in your urine and that your lymph node glands have started to swell, it would be a good idea to call the doctor to get this checked up. Don't worry about it too much though - it is just important to get any new symptoms looked at.

Very sorry to hear about your grandfather - it may perhaps be affecting how you are feeling and it may be worth mentioning this to your doctor but the most important thing is to get these new symptoms looked at. Your doctor will be in the best position to help you on both fronts so don't hesitate to talk about everything that is worrying both on a physical and emotional level.

I hope you manage to talk to someone soon and that your symptoms get better.

    Best wishes,
